Newcastle have been interested in signing 25 year-old Bournemouth’s Norwegian striker Josh King all this year after he looked an impressive player in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur are now interested in signing the player this summer, but according to the Telegraph, the north London club may be asked to pay as much as £30M for King.

Joshua has played 28 times for Norway with 7 goals since he made his debut against Iceland in September 2012.

King was signed from Blackburn Rovers two years ago for the Cherries and he’s since had two decent seasons in the Premier league scoring 22 goals in 67 Premier League appearances.

Spurs Chairman David Levy must still be smarting from the massive £30M he paid over to Newcastle United last summer for a certain Moussa Sissoko, who was a big flop last season.

Newcastle fans had warned at the time he was signed he was worth nowhere near £30M, but we didn’t try too hard to persuade the London club not to buy Moussa – come to think of it.

One of the best deals Newcastle ever made.

Spurs are said to have reservations about the move for King because of the fee and Everton are also said to be interested in spending even more money this summer.

It’s interesting these were the same two clubs interested in signing Moussa Sissoko on the final day of last summer’s transfer window.

We would assume, at a massive £30M, it’s simply not worth even contemplating trying to sign Callum Wilson for Newcastle this summer.

There must be better deals for strikers elsewhere.

That’s true isn’t it?
