KASUNGU (Maravi Post)—The Main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) appears to be on course as political heavyweights are joining the party and others are yet to join the party.
The latest development is the joining of Former Minister of Finance Ken Kandodo who has dumped the erstwhile ruling party, Peoples Party (PP) of the self-exiled President Joyce Banda.
Speaking in Kasungu during the welcome ceremony; Kandodo said he has re-joined the party so he can help in strengthening it ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Meanwhile, MCP leader Professor Lazarus Chakwera will be heading to the Southern region where he will be expected to welcome the Lower Shire Political heavyweight Sidik Mia.
A recent afrobarometer survey findings revealed that MCP would form government under the leadership of Chakwera if elections were to be conducted at the time the survey took place.
