Newcastle May Be Able To SIgn Chelsea Midfielder On Permanent Deal

We had showcased 22 year-old Chelsea central midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah recently, who seemed to be available for a permanent transfer away from Chelsea.

It seemed he could be a great signing for Newcastle, but it seems he is now close to joining Watford.

Watford are in talks to sign the player who has played 40 times for the England U21 side, so we suppose Rafa doesn’t rate him that highly.

It also appears that Watford’s new manager Marco Silva is making some good moves in the transfer market this summer to strengthen the Watford team.

Chalobah has already been at Watford on a loan deal earlier in his career and he was very impressive for the Hornets.

It could be that Rafa Benitez wants to sign 21 year-old Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is likely to be heading out on a season loan deal.

Ruben has failed to make it into the Chelsea first team to any great extent and he made only 11 appearances last season and in total over the last three seasons, he has made 32 total appearances with two goals for the first team.

Because Ruben didn’t come through last season at the Blues, it’s not clear whether we could sign him permanently this summer, or at least get him on a loan deal with an option to buy next year.

Signing him outright could be the best deal right now, but Chelsea would probably put a clause in the contract that they can sign him back at a certain price.

That’s in case Rafa Benitez makes him into a great player and it certainly seems the big clubs have all their bases covered these days.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the Newcastle squad next season permanently or on loan, would certainly be a very good acquisition for Newcastle.
