We’ve been sent some interesting facts put together in an infographics by web-site www.kickoff.co.uk with comparisons between Florian Lejeune and Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles and how his Spanish club Eibar performed with and without him last season.

The stats show that Florian Lejeune is a good player and certainly the news on him from Spain is that he can be a top player for Newcastle United and in today’s transfer window he’s not expensive at around £8.8M.

Florian was finally introduced at Newcastle earlier today and he’s the second player to sign on for us following Christian Atsu from Chelsea some weeks ago.

Florian Lejeune – seems like a very good player
According to Managing Director Lee Charnley there are more players to arrive at Newcastle soon.

The more the better as far as we are concerned – as long as they are good players.

Here’s the two infographics from Kickoff which are quite impressive for our new signing:

There’s going to some competition at center-back now between the three leading contenders – Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Florian Lejeune and Rafa Benitez may yet bring in another center-back this summer.

If that happens we would expect the 36 times capped DR Congo International Chancel Mbemba to leave Newcastle, although the 22 year-old has made it clear he wants to stay on Tyneside and fight for his place in the side and he’s already proved he can play well in the Premier League.

The acquisition of Florian Lejeune takes Newcastle’s gross spending to £15M and our net spending to around £4M so far this summer.

One of our readers Alex Wannop is completing in the GN 10K next Sunday and also the GN Run to collect funds for Tiny Lives, because the Trust provided lifesaving care for his son Isaac, when he was born by C-section and in some distress.

The Tiny Lives Trust funds the Special Care Baby Unit at the RVI where Alex’s son Isaac spent the first few weeks of his life.

Alex is appreciative of the work the great doctors and nurses did to save his son’s life and that’s why he’s raising money.

Please support this very worthwhile charity on Alex’s Just Giving page where there are pictures of his son Isaac – thanks.
